@Fahad - In order to close the report properly, could you please tell us
if you tested both Inkscape versions on the same operating system, and
confirm it crashes with the official (0.48.3.1) package but not with the
trunk version? Thanks.

  Whenever I tried to save my work, Inkscape crashes

Bug description:
  I use Kubuntu 12.04 and Inkscape 0.48.3.1 r9886. Whenever I try to
  print or save my work, inkscape keeps crashing. I tried to use gdb to
  find what goes wrong but what I got is this:
