Update: The problem goes away if the credentials are stored in the "Login" keyring instead of the "Standard keyring" (not sure about translation) that is created by default.

It will first bring up the prompt to enter the keyring password; once entered, it will still prompt for creds to the resource. However, cancelling (by CTRL+C) and running the command again does not prompt for creds and succeeds (expected behavior).
