I'd like to add more information as it might be useful. I followed Tudor4 in 
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2022151 by:
push an on/off button of the laptop, then
in a pop-up, click the shutdown (yes the shutdown, not the restart), then
push an on/off button of the laptop to start up the system again,
then the headphone works.
