I can't reproduce. It seems LibreOffice was also bumped to the upstream
version that you said this problem was fixed on. Can you confirm this
is fixed in the updated version in 14.04?

Lubuntu 14.04 AMD64
The libreoffice (apt-get install libreoffice) impress take 1 minute to
open a document, the same document is open in 15 seconds with
libreoffice 4.2.4 in the same computer.
Open document attached with libreoffice impress.
The error is only in the build for ubuntu repositories: 4.2.3.3 build
420m0(Build:3).
In version 4.2.4 from libreoffice web the document open in 15 seconds:
