Title:
File links do not work in Thunderbird

Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: thunderbird

When using file links ("file:///mnt/path/to/my/file.txt") tb accepts them as
links and makes them clickable but when klicking this link tb just opens a
dialog that asks which app you want to open the file with. The strange thing is
that the filetype is not found as ".txt" but as type "file-link". This also
means that adding a new mime type to mimetypes.rdf is useless since all file
links are of type "file-link" and thus are opened with the same application, no
matter if they are pdf, doc of jpg.
The expected behavior, which worked on karmic, is of course that the file
opens with the appropriate application defined via systems mime types.

  System info:

  Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
  Release: 10.04
  Thunderbird 3.0.9, Copyright (c) 1998-2010 mozilla.org

  so long,
      Jörg
