Title: Gedit does not base it's syntax highlighting on file content on a remote server Status in “gedit” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: When a file contains #!/bin/bash in it's header, this is not recognized when the file is on a remote location (ssh, smb, etc.). The syntax hightlighting has to be set manually to 'sh'. When the file is local, the syntax highlighting works as expected.
