I seem to have the same problem (@kubuntu 14.04, 64-bit), it sometimes also 
occurs when using the "open file" dialog. Uninstalling libreoffice-kde seems to 
help, and installing libreoffice-gnome so it doesn't look so terrible made it 
usable again. 
It would be really great if someone could fix the bug, though - if a dev needs 
logfiles or debug info to track down the problem, I will gladly help.

Bug description:
  Description of problem:
  Libreoffice crashes every time I try to save a document with "Save as" with 
the following error "QWidget::repaint: Recursive repaint detected".

  How reproducible:
  Every time.

  Steps to Reproduce:
  1.Open a new libreoffice document and type a word or two into it.
  2.Click on "Save as" to save the document. 
  3. Move the mouse outside the "Save as" dialog

  Actual results:
  Libreoffice crashes with a "QWidget::repaint: Recursive repaint detected" 
error.

  Expected results:
  Libreoffice should save the file.

  Workaround:
  Uninstalling libreoffice-kde solves the problem

  All packages are updated to lastest version.
