  Ubuntu upgrade from 13.04 to 13.10 encouters problem with package
  "tex"

Status in “tex-common” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  While upgrading from Ubuntu 13.04 to 13.10 update-manager encountered a 
problem with package "tex" (Version: TeX 3.1415926 (TeX Live 2013/Debian) 
kpathsea version 6.1.1). The manager suggested I report this a bug. Upgrade 
continued but later also encounterd problem with "tex-common." Because there 
was no internet connection the upgrade whas aborted.
