You cannot install the Catalyst legacy driver on Ubuntu 14.04.x/Trusty. It does
not support the kernel and Xserver version in Trusty.

Title:
fglrx (not installed): fglrx kernel module failed to build

Status in “fglrx-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Hello... again.
After a durty way (install fglrx, uninstal.... many times to follow a lot of
tutos !); ther's still no way to instal the last drivers for my Ati HD 4670
(13.1 legacy from AMD). Last try (which "failed" me there...) I've followed
these steps :

  sudo sh /usr/share/ati/fglrx-uninstall.sh
sudo apt-get remove --purge fglrx fglrx_* fglrx-amdcccle* fglrx-dev*
  sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf
  apt-get install --reinstall libgl1-mesa-glx:amd64 libgl1-mesa-glx:i386
  sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
  sudo reboot
  mkdir ~/catalyst13.1/
  cd ~/catalyst13.1/
Downloaded the appropriate driver for my machine here from the AMD/ATI
Website and move it in ~/catalyst13.1/ :
amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13.1-legacy-linux-x86.x86_64.run
  chmod +x amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13.1-legacy-linux-x86.x86_64.run
  ./amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13.1-legacy-linux-x86.x86_64.run --extract
driver
  cd ~/catalyst13.1/driver/common/lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/
  cd ~/catalyst13.1/driver/
  ./ati-installer.sh 8.970 --buildpkg Ubuntu/trusty
  cd ~/catalyst13.1/
  sudo dpkg -i fglrx*.deb
  sudo amdconfig --initial -f
  sudo reboot

And then the bad login intead of the automatic start of my session,
with 2 or 3 error messages blinking too quickly to be usable... and
login again... and again... no other way out for me than restart,
recovery, repair and 2 reboot... then

  fglrxinfo return :
X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such
operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 155 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (X_GLXQueryServerString)
Serial number of failed request: 12
Current serial number in output stream: 12

It done almost the same each time I'v tryed it since I start this "messi
travel"... You see what I'mean ? (cause I don't !!).
Dunnow if i'm usefull, but Thank's for the job and any ideas to fix it...

Spec of the Hard (a "gift") :
  Dell XPS1645 : core i7 1,6ghz, 4gig Ram, [AMD/ATI] RV730/M96-XT [Mobility
Radeon HD 4670]1go... What else ?
