I looks like it happens when I have many tabs open in Firefox, but it can also happen when I use other programs (like Gnome Image Viewer). When it freezes I might be able to use CTRL+Alt+F4 (when I press several times) so I can shut the pc off with "shutdown -r now" command. If not my only option is to turn the power off (I lose all my work when this happens). I have a clean install of Ubuntu 12.04 Beta 1, and I have not installed the proprietary AMD graphic driver. This also happened when I tried out the Ubuntu 12.04 Alpha 2 on the same pc. But when I installed and used the xbuntu-desktop on Ubuntu 12.04 Alpha 2 it worked just fine - so it must be something with the Unity stuff (or compiz). This have never happens before on my pc (I have used previous versions of Ubuntu on the same hardware). Some of my hardware: Intel Core 2 Quad AMD Radeon HD 5870 I do not know how to read log files - but I can post them if you tell me where to look. Thanks for reading.
