Public bug reported:

Thunderbird 31.0 and Lightning 3.3 (both from default repository):

Adding calendars (.ics files) from the network works fine.
Offline Support chosen

Detaching the computer from the network and starting Thunderbird does
not show calendar entries (although a few arbitrary entries are shown)

Synchronizing the calendars then eliminates all entries.

In the calendar folder the entries are sored in the local databases
(sqlite files)

Expected behaviour:

Short phase of querying available calendars
Recognition of network outage
Display of locally stored copies of entries
Journalling of changes to all writable calendars

After network connection:
Commit to main calendar files
Update of local copies

I believe this is woring with off the shelf Thunderbird and Lightning
(and was as expected in Lightning 2.6)
