notifications are not dismissed after messages read in Evolution

Bug description:
Ubuntu 13.10
evolution-indicator 0.2.20-0ubuntu11
evolution 3.8.4-0ubuntu1
evolution-ews 3.8.4-0ubuntu1
Steps to reproduce:
1. I get a new email. I receive notification as normal, and the icon turns
blue.
2. I switch to Evolution and read email
Now I expect the notification to clear, but it doesn't. The icon is
still blue and it still shows 1 unread message in the Contacts
section.
I'm using evolution-ews to read email on an Exchange server.
Notifications are cleared normally by other apps (like Pidgin).
