Public bug reported: Although Libreoffice has about 90% of strings translated to Kannada in LO 4.2 and 4.3, libreoffice-l10n-kn is not packaged into Libreoffie package.[1] And translation is completed for LO 4.1 version, but still localization package for Kannada was neither included in Indic language package(libreoffice-l10n-in) nor there was seperate package in previous version of libreoffice. But I see most of the rpm-based systems ship libreoffice-l10n-kn with their libreoffice.[2]
Libreoffice.org provides *.deb files for Kannada(kn), but these packages can't be used with existing Libreoffice package in Ubuntu and whole *.deb packages have to be downloaded from LO site.[3] One workaround can be installing *deb packages provided by Libreoffice.org and then install Kannada(kn) language package.
