Title: Inconsistency in wording used to describe password error Status in The "GKSu" Gnome Frontend for "su": New Status in GNOME Terminal: New Status in One Hundred Papercuts: Invalid Status in PolicyKit: New Status in “gnome-screensaver” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “unity-greeter” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: In a new installation of Ubuntu there are incosistencies in the text used to describe when a user enters their password incorrectly. The ones I have found are: Logging in from boot: "Invalid password, please try again" Unlocking your computer: "Incorrect password" PolicyKit: Authenticating an operation e.g. installing an application: "Your authentication attempt was unsuccessful. Please try again." sudo: Putting in a password in the terminal: "Sorry, try again." Entering a password on tty1-6 "Login incorrect" It could be argued that the text used for logging in should be different to the other tasks, but even then there are inconsistencies To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gksu/+bug/915377/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
