Title:
brasero disk burning application ruins my dual-layer DVD's

Status in “brasero” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I have tried to do several "one-to-one" data disk copies with Brasero.
I have now ruined 3 (Expensive!) dual-layer DVD+Rdl disks. The program
will spend 25 minutes copying the 7+GB disks, and then prompt to
"replace disk with blank DVD...", upon inserting the blank disk, a
checksum is carried out and the burning begins. About 20 seconds later
the burning stops and there is an error message stating that the
burning failed (and I am left with a now, unusable disk). The report
is available by request, since it is Very lengthly, ie: checksum
  results, etc.
