Public bug reported: Observed behaviour: I installed a XMPP server (ejabberd) on a machine running Ubuntu 12.04. The service can be used on my Android phone using "Xabber" without any problems, via the mobile phone network as well as in my WLAN. On other machines (my PC running Xubuntu 12.04 or my notebook running Xubutu 14.10 Beta) using Pidgin, I always get a "Not authorized" error message at login. "sendxmpp" works both on my PC and on my notebook. Adding SRV records for _xmpp-client and _xmpp-server did not help, also adding "fqdn{domain}" to the config file didn't.
Expected behaviour: Pidgin should be able to login to a XMPP server without an erorr message. If there's an error, it should clearly point out the problem and not just write that something went wrong and give me no idea what I could do to solve the problem.
