Public bug reported: In 14.04, when you have Tunesviewer installed and go to an iTunesU page (for example, search for "Stanford iTunesU" or "Liberty itunesU") it offers to open Tunesviewer for itmss:// url it sends you to.
Unfortunately in 14.10 it offers to open the page in Rhythmbox, which doesn't work. (Actually Rhythmbox doesn't even work for subscribing podcast rss from Firefox anymore - but that's another bug - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/1051442) I haven't tested other URI scheme:// protocols to check if it opens correct application - Could this be a temporary bug in Ubuntu Unicorn or is this a change in the system, similar to how it changed in Ubuntu 11.x as described here? http://jarrpa.net/2011/10/28/creating-custom-url- handlers-in-ubuntu-11-04-11-10-gnome-3-0/ ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.10 Package: firefox 33.0+build2-0ubuntu0.14.10.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.16.0-23.30-generic 3.16.4 Uname: Linux 3.16.0-23-generic x86_64 AddonCompatCheckDisabled: False ApportVersion: 2.14.7-0ubuntu7 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: luke 2175 F.... pulseaudio BuildID: 20141013200324 Channel: Unavailable CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Sat Oct 18 12:00:14 2014 ForcedLayersAccel: False IfupdownConfig: # interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8) auto lo iface lo inet loopback IncompatibleExtensions: English (South Africa) Language Pack - langpack-en...@firefox.mozilla.org English (GB) Language Pack - langpack-en...@firefox.mozilla.org Default - {972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd} InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-02-27 (233 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Alpha amd64 (20140224) IpRoute: default via 10.0.2.2 dev eth0 proto static 10.0.2.0/24 dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src 10.0.2.15 metric 1 IwConfig: eth0 no wireless extensions. lo no wireless extensions.
