Title: gvfs takes ages to list SMB directory content from VLC Status in “vlc” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: The problem files are located in certain folder, whose name is "music". Files on other folders play fine. If I copy a problematic file to another folder, it plays fine there, but not in the music folder. And while it is trying to start to play the file, vlc does not respond, if I order it to quit. Even killig by signal 1 or 15 fails, but I can kill it by signal 2. It seems VLC can read the file; it can show media information. After several minutes playback starts.
