Bug description:
Binary package hint: language-selector
As of Karmic, gnome-language-selector no longer installs an IME when
adding Japanese language support.
When I installed Japanese support, despite having "Input methods"
ticked, an IME was not installed. I had to manually install scim and
scim-anthy. In previous versions of Ubuntu, this step is handled
automatically.
