I confirm this bug on dell xps 13 9333.
In 14.04 I had intell graphics drivers installed.

As a solution for this bug, which works for me, I've removed AccelMethod"
"glamor" from xorg.conf
In my case just moved out file /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
After rebooting bug not reproducible anymore.

Title:
unity-control center does not start after upgrade to unicorn

Status in unity-control-center package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  michaelz@michaelz-XPS-12-9Q23:~$ unity-control-center

  (unity-control-center:6132): Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'unity-control-center'
received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
    (Details: serial 206 error_code 11 request_code 149 (unknown) minor_code 2)
    (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment
variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
