Public bug reported:

This is probably a duplicate of Bug #1351699 with the difference being
it happened on Ubuntu Studio 14.04 after an "aptitude update", "aptitude
upgrade" I performed around February 5, 2015. My 27" display went from
WQHD (2560 x 1440) down to VGA (640x480). When I tried to open the
Settings Manager's > Additional Drivers I got the notice, "No additional
drivers available."
