Public bug reported:

My apologies for the lack of information, but I could not report this
bug until I restarted my computer. I suddenly could only use my
programs already loaded in memory. There was no way to write anything
on disk. Trying to open a program from the terminal would crash-close
the terminal if the program required to write to disk. Chrome didn't
allow downloads. OpenOffice wouldn't let me save documents. At restart I
got a message that /tmp was unaccesible, I chose the "F" (fix) option
and it got solved. But I lost a lot of files due to this issue.
