X crashes and sends back to login screen or freezes system completely

Bug description:
Hi,
When I try to log in to a Windows 2003 Server machine which has several
sessions, Remmina does not work (does not even show the login screen).
rdesktop on the other hand shows the login screen, and after login, I can see
the available open sessions.
So far it seems to be connected to the resolution of the session I'd like to
connect to: If I choose one that does not match the resolution of the current
rdesktop session, the system freezes for a short time and I find myself on the
login screen (or need to do a restart in worst case).
If you have any idea what else to check, or what to look for (or it is
a well-known problem with an already existing solution), please let me
know.
