This may be tied to later kernel versions. Upgrading only the kernel to 3.18 or 3.19 major versions reproduces the problem for me.

Works fine in Utopic Unicorn. In Vivid I can do terminal commands that show the Wacom tablet being there:- lsusb | grep Wacom xinput list lsmod | grep wacom Installing Ubuntu Gnome (Vivid) and using Gnome Control Center also fails to detect my Wacom Intuos 4 tablet.
