Message is still the same in xubuntu 14.04.2 using brasero. It is misleading. I cancelled the process and the disc came out just as fine.

After burning there was a step labeled "Creating image checksum". This is not very clear (unless you are an experienced brasero user). As I understand, it is reading back the disc content to verify the burn was without errors. The message should be changed to be more clear. Users care "what" is done (verification), not "how" it is done (by computing and comparing a checksum - I guess).
