Mea culpa. Those logs demonstrate a different bug (I've got too many?) with darkening screen. After the latest update, when I choose switch user, the screen darkens but now moves on to the login screen as it should. It lands me there ready for the password of the original user, but without logging me out. ie behaviour is okay.
Can someone else still reproduce this bug? And provide logs as requested by Sebastien? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to lightdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/861790 Title: choosing to switch users leads to dark screen, no options Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Using Gnome (3?) in 11.10, I choose Switch User from my name in the top right. Screen fades to black, except for my name and the time. Nothing happens. I press spacebar, and get a chance to log back in. So... it's behaving has a screen lock; not an opportunity to switch users.
