This is a definite regression between 11.04 and 11.10, as the same spreadsheet would take about 20s to open in 11.04, but I have seen it take 5 - 10 minutes of 100% cpu usage in the new release.

When I try to open it in Ubuntu it takes over 12 minutes! This is very unreasonable! This is a serious problem. While the document is opening here is what I have for free -m: free -m total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 3962 2908 1053 0 252 1246 -/+ buffers/cache: 1408 2553 Swap: 5239 0 5239 One processor is at 100% for the entire time and the other processor is practically idle. If you need me to give any more information, just let me know and tell me what to do. I can reproduce this as often as you like. Hope we can see something to fix this, because I have to boot into OpenSuse when I need to edit or use this document or others similar to it. The document is about 4mb is size, which I know is large, but I haved used it in the past many times with Ubuntu without a problem. I believe it is only since my Lucid Lynx install that I have this problem.
