It seems that this bug is still no valid, since Empathy is now listing
Google talk's contacts properly.

Maybe Google has changed something in their protocolo, so I'm closing
this bug.

Bug description:
  There is a bug opened in Empathy 2.30.3
  (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/676828) about
  a problem in Empathy listing Google talk's contacts.

  This bug has already reported in telepathy-gabble's bugzilla
  (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40276) and some people
  that has updated telepathy-gabble package from ppa:telepathy/ppa can
  confirm that this bus has been fixed in the ppa so, please, fix it and
  release a new version in Ubuntu's main repositories
