Title:
printing labels weirdness
Status in cups package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
when you open oowriter, select labels etc...
when i "design" the labels page and put all the margins the correct way, i
get different results on 2 different printers.
So... i don't know if its a printer driver problem or openoffice.org problem
(since all "normal" pages print correctly from the different programs)
e.g. when i set the top margin to 0mm, it prints "correctly" on my brother
HL-1440, when i set the top margin to 1mm, it starts printing at an offset of
about 3cm from the top... which sucks because my labels start at 2,5cm. when i
set it to 2,5cm, it prints at about 5cm from the top... so there is no way to
get it "correctly"
when i try printing the exact same page on my HP C5180 printer, it prints
"allmost correctly" but still not good enough to put everything on the labels
correctly.
my pc is a standard ubuntu 8.10 with standard version of OOo (2.4)
(latest patches) which i now tried to upgrade to 3.0.1-rcX for ubuntu.
both have the same problem.
