In a normal configuration, it's impossible to add a hidden file (beginning with .) to a mail with Mozilla Thunderbird. Mozilla Thunderbird open a GTK window to choose which file we want to join to a new mail and in this windows, hidden files don't appear, it's impossible to select one.
