Title:
  Duplicates of all menu items under "Preferences"

Status in “gnome-menus” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  After an update to Lucid Alpha 1 either today or yesterday, there are
  now doubles of everything under my Preferences menu. All other menus
  are normal, it's just Preferences that has duplicates of every entry.
