@Pedro: your previous comment is a text template that does not match here. An Oneric live-CD does not include gnome-panel. And this bug is about an issue in 11.04 which will be supported until autumn 2012, is it? So please consider to set this bug to "Confirmed", or back to "New" at least.
My issue is also covered by bug 556782, but Martin who reported this bug has different hardware and would be left in the cold if this bug just expires!
