You have been subscribed to a public bug:

On the previous versions the default screen brightness was perfect for
me but on 11.10 the default brightness is killing my eye. I have changed
the brightness level like 70% but after restarting and every
login/logout it returns to default 100%.

How do I make remember my brightness setting?

I was asking a question on here:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/174489 and someone
suggested me to report this as a bug.
