New users also find this pretty unintuitive compared to what they were used to. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/578285 Title: Since Lucid, notifications are not really clear Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in “indicator-applet” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Binary package hint: empathy Hello, Since Lucid, empathy notifications were been merged with the e-mail ones. For a daily use, this is not so effective : we don't see well notifications. So I don't see as fast as I want when somebody talked to me. I installed ppa of empathy, where I don't have the Ubuntu patch and have an empathy icon. I think this is a good idea to group notifications and decrease the number of icons in the gnome status toolbar. But I think the way it is implemented is not ergonomic.
