Have tried several ways to "add" wine into the context "open with" menu, but still fails to get it.
- mimeapps.list: added into [Default Applications] application/x-ms-dos-executable=wine.desktop - /etc/gnome/defaults.list, added: application/x-extension-exe=wine.desktop Maybe its an xdg-utils issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/879500 Title: no Wine entry into "open with" for exe application Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Precise i386 I have wine 1.3.28 (genuine Precise) & wine1.3-gecko installed but i want to open an exe file, the "open with" dialog box dont propose wine in its list. Selecting "other apps" it still dont find wine. Searching then apps online, its proposing something wrong again: Wine Microshoft Compat.... which i select but then warn about: -> To be installed: wine1.2-gecko (1.0.0+1) -> To be removed: wine1.3 (1.3.28-0ubuntu1) This is completly borked.
