my ubuntu version is 14.04 my videocard is Intel HD graphics ( i5 2500, 3.3 Ghz). I didn't install a driver not even the intel drivers. So i am guessing mesa driver. I have a fresh install ( 3 weeks old). but i don't think it is in a driver. i am guessing something in the greeter which doesn't assing the right resolution to draw on.
