There has to be a way to add proxy authentication details for the proxy. To work around this, I need to manually edit the /etc/environment and /etc/apt/apt.conf to add the proxy username and password for the selected proxy.
The bad part is that every time I remove the proxy from the network gui, I need to add the username and the password again in the above two files. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to unity-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1320116 Title: No way to setup user and password for proxy auth Status in unity-control-center package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: No way to setup user and password for proxy auth in System Settings -> Network -> Proxies Description: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Release: 14.04 unity-control-center: Установлен: 14.04.3+14.04.20140410-0ubuntu1 Кандидат: 14.04.3+14.04.20140410-0ubuntu1 Таблица версий: *** 14.04.3+14.04.20140410-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://ru.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-control-center/+bug/1320116/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
