Hi Michiel, Given that the install completed with no errors, I disagree with Fabio; I doubt the issue is your CD image.
I've seen people with similar problems, e.g. bug 804171 where the problem is lightdm not starting. Could you please attach to the bug the contents of /var/log/lightdm You might find that lightdm.log contains a lot of hints as to the problem. I can only reboot from there using ctrl-alt-delete. By using the the safe mode to boot, I was able to reach the command line. I used apt-get to do the available upgrades. That made no difference to the above. Does anyone else experience this? Does anyone know the solution?
