This is also happening to me. But it is not belongs only to Pidgin but Empathy
too. I do not have have these contacts blocked. Actually if they contact me the
window chat pop ups but still they are not listed in the contact list. Besides
if I go to the yahoo mail internall messenger those contacts appears.
I had this problem originally with 10.10 and now with 11.04, always in 32 bits.

When I run pidgin and connect to my yahoo account, not all of my online
buddies are listed. I sometimes receive messages from them but cannot see them
in the list.
Also I am not receiving notices about being added to other peoples buddy
lists even though they said they have tried adding me.
