I have tried to reproduce the bug on Ubuntu Wily, Glib 2.46.1, and was not able to reproduce it (trying both configurations, no dnssd in both cases and once BrowseRemoteProtocols cups and second, BrowseLocalProtocols cups). For me cups-browsed always keeps running.
