The sound is played from the internal speaker only.
Funny thing is that when I disconnect the jack the sound device in sound 
settings goes from Speakers to Headphones (which is the opposite) and the sound 
stops playing even from the internal speaker.

It looks like the output switch is reverted to the jack indicator.
