Ok, assigning to the Canonical Desktop Team for now, jason, pitti,
others do you think that's configuration migration is something we need
or a "would be nice to have" for the lts to lts upgrade?

Bug description:
lightdm: 0.9.7-0ubuntu1
I did an upgrade from natty to oneiric using 'do-release-upgrade -d'.
Natty was configured for automatic login and included a custom.conf.
After the upgrade I'm brought to a lightdm login screen. The
automatic login configuration was not copied into lightdm.
