Is there any update on this? This is 2016 and the problem seems to be
still there... Are you sure this is a duplicate question after all.

Title:
Nautlius > File/Folder Properties does not display full file path for
  a symbolic link

Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: nautilus

When in Nautilus and I right-click a symbolic link, then select
  properties, it shows Location as
"/home/brett/my_altonlabs/altonlab..." while Link target says the same
thing: "/home/brett/my_altonlabs/altonlab...". What good is this to
the user? I need to see what it's linked to. The only way I can find
the full path is by using Bash and doing a 'ls -l' command in the
  directory.

I advise that when you select the text, you can at least scroll to see
  the whole path.

A screenshot will be submitted below.
