The flickering seems to subside after 10-15 minutes, but even rebooting does not fix the flickering. (in fact, once triggered from ubuntu, the flickering will happen in the BIOS menu) I know this is not a hardware problem, because the same problem does not occur in Windows. I imagine it's a driver problem, though the flickering happens whether I use the radeon or fglrx driver.
