Kubuntu Vivid 1 Beta 15.04 login screen: Cursor changes to cross

Bug description:
When opening the drop down menu for selecting the window manager the cursor
sometime turns into a cross. If the curors is moved outside of the drop down
menu (without closing it) it changes.
Behaviour is not really predictable.
What is the cross telling the user?
