Title: "metacity --replace" stalls and hangs Status in “metacity” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: i lost the top bar of windows (the one that contains the minimize, maximize, and shutdown buttons). i issued "metacity --replace" and "sudo metacity --replace" the terminal hung and after an hour or so, i received the following message: Window manager warning: Buggy client sent a _NET_ACTIVE_WINDOW message with a timestamp of 0 for 0x3e07f04 (GIF Option) Window manager warning: meta_window_activate called by a pager with a 0 timestamp; the pager needs to be fixed. the top bar is reinstated. however, if i close the terminal that hung, the bar disappears again. also, i have to invoke "metacity --replace" each and every time i sign on.
