Bug description:
During the 'cleaning up' phase of a partial upgrade I got a message
about closing down applications, which I began to do (FF, TB+Enigmail)
when x crashed to a text screen. I had to do a hard reboot - into low
graphics mode. Graphics is OK when using previous kernel.
