In Ubuntu 15.10, using Nautilus 3.14.2, following the above steps the invisible folder is created, however, it also creates an Untitled folder as well.
To prove that the invisible folder is being created: - make a new folder that starts with a period (.testfolder) - go into terminal, and do ls -la | grep testfolder .testfolder will exist alongside Untitled Folder. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1571418 Title: wrong folder name when creating new folder with ( . ) dot prefix Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hi.
