I just installed ubuntu 16.04 on a laptop, and after this, I had to install b43
firmware to get wifi working (as expected).
When this was done - I could not see any available wireless networks in
NetworkManager applet, so I had to install wicd-gtk - to be able to choose a
wireless network and connect to it.

Now it connects fine - but nothing is shown in nm-applet my taskbar, and
DNS isn't set correct (it seems it isn't set at all), when it gets a
DHCP address. (dhcp and wifi works fine on my ubuntu 14.04 machines).

I tried running nmcli dev show - and it does not show any DNS
information at all.

when I switch resolv.conf to use 8.8.8.8 as nameserver - dns works fine.

It feels as if I'm missing something for network-manager, to make it
properly handle wireless, and that wicd-gtk doesn't do the job exactly
right ?
