Hi. My modem is ZTE MF 180S. The modem identifies as CR-ROM but it doesn't switches in modem mode. However the modem works correctly on my second laptop (Dell Vostro 1015). My first laptop (Dell Inspiron 7548) has not an ethernet port and my second laptop has it. I used Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 16.04 and Linux Mint 17.2 (x64).
PS. Dell Vostro 1015: Ubuntu 16.04 x64, bios. Dell Inspiron 7548: Ubuntu 16.04 x64, uefi (secure boot is off). PPS.
